Announcement to build world's fastest supercomputer
The US announced on March 25, 2019, the world's fastest supercomputer. The supercomputer is named Aurora.

The US has entered into an agreement with Intel, US Department of Energy and Cray to build this supercomputer. All the institutions involved in the agreement will work together to deliver orora by 2021. It will be fully capable of loading super-computed artificial intelligence and ordinary HPC workloads. This supercomputer will be able to perform one billion calculations per second, that is, the exvascal. Currently the world's fastest computer is IBM's OLCF-4 in the US. It has a speed of 143.5 petaflops.
